2DO:

Latent class analyses:
----------------------
CPH:
Finalize trajectory analysis --- we now have 478 persons with a
recorded ESRD. Analyses both with 3 and 4 classes soon to come.

Both:
A description of the methods used, the limitations and possible
pitfalls to look out for --- part of the methods section, maybe also
as a part of the introduction.

From GJs work it seems that we may be facing poor discrimination
between groups.

Clinical conclusion would be that no destinct groups
can be identified. Leading to...

Classical random effects models for eGFR:
-----------------------------------------
We have just made some analyses of the HbA1c levels in the SDC clinic,
and these could be copied (...sort of...) for the analyses of eGFR, to
highlight:
- general trends in population level eGFR (minor interest)
- population level of *individual* trends in eGFR
- population variation of *individual* trends in eGFR
- effects of age and DM duration (and calendar time?)

BxC could write a methods section and a model analysis for this.

Multistate models
-----------------
Simple:
None -> CKD -> ESRD (and death)

More complex:
None -> CKD-stage 1,2,3a,3b,4,5 -> ESRD , death

Transition rates depending on age, sex, ethnicity, DM duration.
-> lifetime risk of ...

Transition rates *also* depending on clinical measurements liek HbA1c
etc: Not possible to make predictions without models for clinical
measurments

Interval censoring --- we do not know the exact dates of transition
--- treated by (multiple) imputation. This is usually a small problem.

R course:
---------
Currently being planned as simultaneously with ADA.
But dates are not final, might be later in the year, in Lyon.
Another possibility would be to stage a more focused version of the
course over say 4 days in HK?
I could presumably persuade one of my co-teachers to join.
